| About the Artist
Marcie has been drawing and painting almost all of her life. She studied art at Gordon College, in Barnesville Georgia. Her first oil painting classes were with a dear friend, Betty Jo Bailey. She has since painted with many well known artists such as Robert Warren, Dorothy Dent, Gary Jenkins, Mary Carole, Barbara Smenner and Buck Paulson.
Marcie is a certified Dorothy Dent oil painting instructor and a member of T.E.A.M, Teachers and Educators of Art Materials.
Marcie taught art at Calhoun Elementary for several years. She currently teaches one day seminars and weekly classes in oil to adults and teens. Marcie currently teaches classes at the following locations: Hobby Lobby, Dalton, Georgia, Hobby Lobby, Chattanooga, Tennessee, The Harris Art Center, Calhoun, Georgia, Rome Area Council for the Arts, Rome, Georgia, and Marcie’s studio at her home, Calhoun, Georgia.
